Learn how to play Polo at La Esperanza Polo Club
We offer you the opportunity to learn to play polo or improve your handicap, whilst living with our family during your stay at our club, in an exceptional, relaxed and pleasant Argentine atmosphere.
We are located in Coronel Suárez, a town in the province of Buenos Aires.Coronel Suárez is the WORLD CAPITAL OF POLO and home to the most successful polo team ever and where some of the best polo players play. Suarez is a safe town with some nice restaurants, bars and nightlife.
Once you have arrived at Buenos Aires Ezeiza Airport, the quickest way to get to us is by private plane, which we can have waiting for you there. Alternatively we can also arrange chauffeur driven or rental cars. Therefore from your arrival onwards you are immediately part of our club and looked after in luxury accommodation at La Esperanza.
All polo activities take place every day of the week in order to aid you in your pursuit of improving your game. We offer stick and ball during the morning with the constant encouragement from the club’s skilful English speaking instructors, including HPA coach Martin ffrench Blake. Then each afternoon chukkas or matches are played, according to each player’s needs or requirements.
Additionally we can assist with your riding skills and horsemanship, which are considered some of the most challenging parts of playing polo. Plus theory lessons can be given including video footage.
Our service includes four daily meals, drinks and snacks, all expertly prepared by our onsite chef.
Our season starts in November and lasts until about the end of April.
One of the highlights each year is the International Tournament we organize in which players from all over the world take part such as from Australia, Austria, England, Germany, Holland, Italy, Mongolia, Russia,Malaysia,Switzerland and the U.S.A.. Argentine players with a high handicap also participate and are distributed evenly throughout the teams, players such as Horacio, Pepe, Santiago, Diego and Benjamín Araya; Celestino and Silvestre Garros; Juan and Sebastian Harriott; Horacio, Marcos, Bautista and Eduardo Heguy; Marcelo Frayssinet; Enrique Zorrilla; Mito Goti; Salvador Balmaceda and Memo Gracida.
It is one of the most important tournaments in Argentina, which takes place at the end of the year with typically more than eighteen teams plus additional junior teams who partake in their own tournament.
Apart from playing polo there are plenty of other activities and adventures you can experience either individually or with your family/friends: riding horses in places you have never dreamt of including in the Sierra de la Ventana. There, you can stay in a traditional estancia where you can see deer, llama, boar and wild horses. Additionally you will enjoy a delicious barbecue “asado”, which is our specialty as well as sampling wines and Champagne from our own La Esperanza vineyards.
Each trip is made bespoke to your needs. We look forward to welcoming you to our club and family.
